Von 1995 bis 2002 studierte Klaus Erich Dietl Malerei und Kunsttheorie an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München bei Prof. Horst Sauerbruch und bei Prof. Wolfgang Ullrich. 1999 hatte er einen DAAD-Studienaufenthalt in Tokio, Japan. Als „kommando agnes richter“ stellte er 2011 "Playing The City 3"; in der Kunsthalle Schirn aus. 2014 erhielt er den MuVi-Preis bei den 60. Internationalen Kurzfilmtagen in Oberhausen. Dietl hat Lehraufträge an der LMU München und der Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Wien und arbeitet in den Bereichen Medien, Malerei, Text und Film. Zur Zeit entsteht sein neuer Langfilm „Das letzte Loch ist der Mund“.

Klaus Erich Dietl studied painting and art theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Prof. Horst Sauerbruch and Prof. Wolfgang Ullrich. In 1999, he studied abroad in Tokyo, Japan through the DAAD programme. Using the alias „kommando agnes richter“ he exhibited „Playing The City 3“ at the Kunsthalle Schirn in 2011. In 2014 he was awarded the MuVi-Prize at the 60 th International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen. Dietl holds teaching positions at the LMU inMunich and the University for Applied Arts in Vienna and he works in the fields of media, painting, text and film. Currently his new full-length film „The Mouth is the Last Hole“ is in the making.
